Welcome to The Chip Witch!

After almost a year of development, we're thrilled to welcome you to The Chip Witch!

We have always felt that traditional astrology, while powerful and majestic, is no different than any other aspect of human life. That is, it expands, grows, and learns as we do. Not until relatively recent times did we know of the outer planets, yet when we did discover them, we also found that they fit in perfectly. We discovered, we learned, and we grew.

At the Chip Witch, we have computers and we use them. We have developed a more accurate calculation system for knowing where the planets are, where they're going, and making that information available. We also tap in to other data about our solar system, especially the daily activity of the sun. Its energetic nature is always in flux, sometimes quiet and sometimes quite active. We monitor and modify our output in real time. Your NASA and NOAA tax dollars at work!

Finally, we acknowledge that the Universe isn't a deterministic place. We tap into the quantum nature of nature and use real quantum noise generators to feed into what used to be a very slow and manual process. With this more modern source of randomness, we also eliminate personal bias and let the Universe speak in its own voice.

Solar Activity
Solar activity reached low levels. A C9 flare, the largest of the period, was observed from an unnumbered region just beyond the northeast limb. This area produced a few other C-flares as well. An area of plage to the immediate north of Region 2936 (N15E47, Dsi/beta) was also active, producing at least one C-flare. Despite showing a lot of recent growth, Region 2936 was fairly inactive. Region 2937 (S20E01, Dao/beta) also underwent some growth but was inactive. Region 2935 (N27W21, Bxo/beta) decayed quite a bit and Region 2934 (S24W12, Hsx/alpha) remained stable. No new Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.
Solar Wind
The solar wind environment sampled by the DSCOVR satellite showed lingering CME influence, then the arrival of a CIR and the onset of a positive polarity CH HSS. Total field peaked at 12 nT and the Bz component reached a maximum southward deviation of -9 nT early in the day. Winds peaked around 500 km/s before leveling off closer to 440 km/s by the end of the period. The first part of the period the phi angle was highly variable, which is typical with a CIR. Once the CH HSS arrived, phi switched into a mostly positive orientation.
Energetic Particle
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at moderate levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at background levels.
