Solar activity reached high levels due to an M7.2/1b flare produced by Region 3089 (S21E44, Dai/beta-gamma) at 26/1214 UTC. The region also produced an M2.1/1n at 26/1055 UTC and an M5.3 flare at 26/1231 UTC. Region 3089 became more complex in its intermediate spots, developing a small gamma configuration, and exhibited growth in its leading spots. Region 3088 (S28W58, Dkc/beta) was responsible for a hand full of C-class flares, the largest of which was a C7.2/1n at 26/0628 UTC. The remaining numbered regions were unremarkable in comparison.
The solar kp index is quiet, with no changes to retrograde effects. The solar wind speed is currently normal.
Solar wind parameters continued at background levels. Total magnetic field strength averaged 6-7 nT and its Bz component was mostly in a neutral or positive orientation. Solar wind speeds ranged ~315 to 378 km/s and the phi angle was predominantly negative.
