This is Chipwitch Today, your daily source of reliable data upon which you can base your daily practice.
Solar activity was low. Region 3536 (N05W20 at 08/0000UTC, Eai/beta-gamma) produced the largest event of the period, a C6/1N flare at 07/0752. The region grew in area and flux emergence was captured by SDO/HMI imagery. This was one of 10 regions on the visible disk. The two other beta-gamma regions were 3539 (N11W01, Dri) and 3540 (S17E47, Eki) and 3430 was the largest of all the regions.
The solar kp index is quiet, with no changes to retrograde effects. The solar wind speed is currently normal.
The solar wind environment was nominal. Total magnetic field strength was below 5 nT and Bz was mostly neutral. Solar wind speeds were presumably slow but actual wind measurements were obscured by peak tracking issues on the DSCOVR spacecraft. Between gaps in data, the ACE spacecraft reported winds speeds between 300-350 km/s. Phi angle was predominantly negative.
There is a 35% chance of solar activity, with a 20% chance of a minor event, a 5% chance of a moderate event, and a 1% chance of a strong event.

Well, stargazers and cosmic enthusiasts, guess who's just moved into the neighborhood? That's right, it's Mars, setting up shop in the ol' Goat's house, Capricorn. Now, you might be thinking, "What's a hot-headed planet like Mars doing in the reserved and practical sign of Capricorn?" Well, folks, it’s kind of like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory doing a stint on The Office - it's going to be interesting, that's for sure!
When Mars, the cosmic action hero, lands in Capricorn, forget about any fantasies of teleportation or time travel. Our fiery friend is trading in his space suit for a business suit. Mars in Capricorn wants us to put down our comic books, assess what lies ahead, strategize our next superhero move, and turn our wildest dreams into working realities.
This is not about haphazardly throwing ourselves into the fray; it's more like a rigorous game of chess with Spock. It's all about questioning not just the 'why' but the 'how'. Let's face it, we could all do with a bit of Vulcan logic and planning.
This transit is the perfect time to break out your inner Tony Stark. Start that ambitious project you've been procrastinating on, get back to finishing that model Death Star that's been gathering dust since '77, or simply re-evaluate your life goals. I mean, do you really need to collect every single Star Trek commemorative plate?
But remember, dear stargazers, while Mars and Capricorn are both more than ready to boldly go where no one has gone before, they're not exactly the best at handling emotions. Don't turn into a Borg, ignoring the needs of others in your quest for success. A little compassion goes a long way. After all, who wants to reach the top only to find they've become the Darth Vader of their own life story?
So, grab your lightsabers and tricorders, it's going to be a wild ride. Just remember, even in the most epic of space battles, it's the heart, not the phaser, that truly matters.
Jupiter
Jupiter is in Taurus
Jupiter is prograde at 05 Tau 41' 45", moving at 0.03 degrees per day, and is 686687202km away and receding.
So, my dear Earthlings, the interstellar Jedi master, Jupiter, has decided to pay a visit to the cosmic bull, Taurus. Now, imagine if Obi-Wan Kenobi was a Taurus - he'd probably have a lot more patience dealing with Anakin's mood swings. But I digress.
Jupiter, the Yoda of our solar system, is all about wisdom and deep thought while Taurus, much like Chewbacca, is steady and strong. When these two come together, it's like finding out you've had the Force inside you all along. It’s not in some galaxy far, far away, it's in you, my friend! Just be careful not to lose it in the black hole of daily life's distractions.
Now, with Jupiter in Taurus, it's like having your very own Millennium Falcon for reaching your dreams or long-term goals. It's time for some light speed progress, but remember to plan your route first. Even Han Solo had a plan... well, sort of.
If you're looking to hit the jackpot like Lando Calrissian, this could be your lucky transit. With Jupiter - the planet equivalent of a winning lottery ticket - in Taurus, the zodiac's Bill Gates, you might just find yourself swimming in Galactic Credits. But be careful, my young Padawan. There's a thin line between need and want.
Taurus, like Jabba the Hutt, enjoys the finer things in life. So when Jupiter, the planet of expansion, meets the sign that’s known to overindulge, you might find yourself tempted by the Dark Side of impulse spending. Remember, patience and careful consideration are your lightsabers during this transit.
So buckle up, my starry-eyed friends. The Jupiter-Taurus transit could be an epic saga of personal growth and success, or a space opera of excessive indulgence. The choice, as always, is yours. May the Force be with you!
Saturn
Saturn is in Pisces
Saturn is prograde at 03 Pis 54' 54", moving at 0.1 degrees per day, and is 1553818351km away and receding.
Alright, star gazers, it's time to buckle up and slap on your space helmets. Our favorite celestial taskmaster, Saturn, is doing the backstroke through the watery depths of Pisces. That's right - the stern school principal of planets is vacationing in La La Land. But don't be fooled, he didn't pack his Hawaiian shirt and flip-flops. Nope, he's here on business, and Pisces' dreamy realm is about to get a reality check.
Saturn in Pisces is like having your subconscious projected onto a giant IMAX screen for all to see - and then getting a bill for the popcorn. It’s a cosmic audit of your deepest dreams. You know that wild idea you've been nurturing about opening a cat cafe on Mars? It's time to either put up or shut up. But fear not, my intergalactic entrepreneurs, this transit isn’t all doom and gloom. Saturn might be a stern taskmaster, but he's also a master builder. He’s here to make sure those dreams are worth their weight in stardust.
However, it's not going to be all sunshine and space rainbows. Saturn didn't earn his reputation as the 'Celestial Party Pooper' for nothing. He’s known for crashing into our dreamscapes like a comet with no regard for “Do Not Disturb” signs. Don't fight it. Instead, invite him in for tea, let him don his rubber gloves, and help you scrub your dreams clean of unnecessary fluff. Sure, it might feel like an invasion at first, but imagine this - even Darth Vader had some good advice to give, once in a while.
With Saturn making waves in Pisces, the realm of sleep and dreams, you might find sleep as elusive as a black hole. Instead of counting sheep, try counting shooting stars. Meditate, connect with nature, take deep breaths, and if all else fails, nap like a cat (but have a dream journal ready!). The cosmos is whispering some deep wisdom during this transit, you just need to tune into the right cosmic frequency.
So remember, brave stargazers, while Saturn in Pisces might feel like you're navigating through a nebula without a map, it's also a unique opportunity to manifest your dreams into reality. After all, who said the path to
Uranus
Uranus is in Taurus
Uranus is retrograde at 19 Tau 14' 42", moving backwards at 0.02 degrees per day, and is 2853785697km away and receding.
Neptune
Neptune is in Pisces
Neptune is prograde at 25 Pis 11' 46", moving at 0.02 degrees per day, and is 4527128970km away and receding.
Pluto
Pluto is in Capricorn
Pluto is prograde at 29 Cap 35' 12", moving at 0.03 degrees per day, and is 5368654616km away and receding.
Firstly, let's address the elephant in the room. No, scratch that, the dwarf planet in the room - Pluto. It's in Capricorn, and it's a whopping 5,368,640,118.642186165km away – yes, I did the math. Or rather, my trusty calculator did. But enough with the nerdy stuff, let's get down to astro-business.
So, what happens when you put Pluto, the mysterious cosmic overlord of transformation, in the same room as Capricorn, the workaholic goat of the zodiac? Well, imagine a bulldozer wearing a business suit, relentlessly plowing through anything that doesn't contribute to the bottom line. Yeah, it's that intense.
Pluto and Capricorn together are like that overachieving power couple everyone secretly admires but also fears. They're all about success, power, and getting things done, even if it means stepping on a few toes (or hooves) along the way. In this transit, empathy might take a backseat faster than you can say "But what about my feelings?" So beware, my cosmic friends, of turning into that guy who shoots down every idea that isn't his own. Remember, not everyone can appreciate the beauty of an Excel spreadsheet like you do.
On the flip side, Pluto is also inviting us to channel our inner Marie Kondo and chuck out any negative patterns that no longer spark joy. This involves some destruction, of course, but think of it as cosmic house cleaning. You're not just throwing stuff out; you're making space for new, shiny things. So, pull up your sleeves, grab your metaphorical sledgehammer and start smashing those unhelpful habits. But be careful – you don't want to accidentally demolish the good stuff along with the bad. That would be like throwing away your Star Wars collectibles because you're trying to declutter. Tragic.
In short, Pluto in Capricorn is all about power, change, and ruthless efficiency. So buckle up, put on your safety goggles, and get ready for some cosmic construction work. Just remember to keep it light and don't forget to laugh at the absurdity of it all. After all, we're just tiny beings on a little blue planet trying to make
